Open Source University Meetup

Sponsored by Sun Microsystems, ACM Kuwait University conduct a series of Open Source University Meetup (aka OSUM) to discuss about latest technologies and trends on open source and aimed to spread awareness about open source technologies such Java, JavaFX, mySQL, and PHP.

We believe on the power of independent learning and the creation of a community that believes that open source and free technologies can empower the advancement of software and information. Such community can expand student’s opportunity and flexibility when transiting from the academic life to business. Let us work together for a world of digital freedom, the freedom to participate, collaborate, create, use and deploy open source technologies (FOSS, Free Open Source Software).

What can you do with OSUM?

1. Conducting occasional meetings, gatherings and tech demos with goodies.
2. Share knowledge and experience on open source technologies.
3. Build and improve open source technologies skills.
4. Keep in touch with the latest trends on open source.
5. Get access to free online courses and webinars from Sun.
6. Become part of the ACM techie community.

How to get started?

1. Register in the OSUM official group link.
2. Check out when is the next OSUM event.
3. Last but not least, come to our office and introduce yourself.

   There’s a typo in the second photo, it’s supposed to be ‘cout’ rather than ‘count’ .
